During this period of COVID-19 were everyone is trying to keep healthy, most people have taken up various forms of exercises to keep fit.
There is a large open field with a few trees where I and quite a number of people jog around every morning and in one of the days of exercising, I noticed everyone was jogging in a clockwise direction around the field while I was the only one jogging counter-clockwise.
It felt quite odd and awkward that I was the only one going against a crowd but from day one without knowing why that is the direction I found most comfortable and just as I was contemplating whether to follow the crowd or not being the odd man out, my heart now asked me a series of questions which made me realize the importance of following my heart and not the crowd.
What is the direction of the rotation of the earth? my heart asked as I was jogging, Well it rotates counterclockwise I responded😃 My heart now asked me the second question;
What direction does the earth revolve around the sun? It revolves counterclockwise around the sun, I responded back in my mind 🌞My heart now asked me the third question;
What is direction of racing tracks in a stadium? I responded, hmm well it goes in counterclockwise direction. 🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️
and so my heart now asked me that ever since the Olympic games have been conducted all thoughout the years from the time of the Greeks and Romans don’t I think there is a reason why even the race tracks were in that direction, and it could be in line with the rotation and revolution of the Earth and the position of the human heart which is on the left side of humans which I later confirmed from my research on the internet to be one of the reasons too because running on the left i.e. counterclockwise direction on a track field is less tiresome than clockwise (probably because of the left heart position and rotation of the earth, I concluded)
And so I continued jogging still going against the crowd, with my heart and mind still in a conversation; ...so just because the crowd is going in one direction does not mean I should follow because they may be wrong and I should always follow my heart and in retrospect, all my life, I have never followed the crowd. I have always done things differently and my close friends can attest to this trait, even my family at a time, thought me to be the black sheep of the family and some thought I was going coo-coo, because I followed my heart and not what everyone else wanted or expected, but at the end of the day, it always turned out that I was right.
So do not be afraid to go against the crowd, follow your heart. Others may think you are a fool but at the end of you may just be right
