“Then the LORD God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.” – Genesis 2:15
It was after the charge God gave to Adam to take care of Eden, that He then created Eve from Adam’s bones to be his help-mate
Genesis 2: 21
So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he slept, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the area with flesh. 22And from the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man, He made a woman and brought her to him. 23And the man said:
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for out of man she was taken.”
24For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
The Expulsion from Paradise
…22Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever…” 23Therefore the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
In each of the case, i.e. when man was in Eden and after he was banished. he was asked to take care of the ground and a helpmate was made for him
If the field is all green and there are no flowers the place would be drab there would be no ecosystem. The flower is planted on the ground and to be cultivated with love. Tend to a flower with love and it will blossom. The flower that adorns the field to attracts insects to help to pollinate the field and to create an ecosystem that sustains itself, but the the man must cultivate and nurture the flower(s) in the field to grow and he must do so with love for it to blossom.
The flower is woman and the gardener is the man. The field is life on earth. Just like the Gardner must tend to the flower with loving care, for it to blossom, so should a man love his wife(s) and give her the enabling environment to make her shine and blossom. When she blossoms an ecosystem of love and sustenance would be established.
