In the book of 2 Corinthians 12:6-10 Paul was lamenting about the thorn in his flesh that humbled him.
For even if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I would be telling the truth, but I refrain from this so that no one may regard me beyond what he sees in me or what he hears from me, 7 even because of the extraordinary character of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me—so that I would not become arrogant. 8 I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. 10 Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.
There have been rife speculations about Apostle Paul’s thorn in the flesh. No one knows exactly what it may have been. It could have been a sore, a disease or a bad habit (smoking, drinking, temperamental, after all, he was a bad guy before Jesus called him). But whatever it was, Paul acknowledged it and called it a thorn in his flesh and a messenger of Satan to trouble him. He knew he could not overcome it no matter how hard he tried and even after he petitioned GOD three times he was made to understand that in that his weakness was his strength. The thorn was something that made him not to be boastful, not to feel pride, but to keep him humble.
There are many people in the world today who have rare gifts and talents but are afraid to use it because they feel inadequate or guilty. Let us remember Apostle Paul’s weakness and how Jesus still used him and made him strong in his weakness.
The world is going through a phase right now, an unprecedented change is silently occurring, a paradigm shift, as there is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, more than ever before, to reveal truths to those who can grasp it so as to become awakened. Even as new truths are being revealed and made clearer through research in science and technology, there is also convergence with these findings in religion and spirituality, all this is meant to speed up “the awakening” by increasing the collective knowledge of humanity.
This silent awakening of sorts is occurring despite the natural catastrophes which in a way are causing people to wake up).
So whatever it is, do not hide or feel inadequate or guilty. Arise and shine your light.
